Boveda Humidity Control Sachets will add or remove moisture within your storage container to maintain a specific relative humidity level. What allows Boveda to do this is its unique ingredients and a thickening agent contained within a reverse osmosis membrane produces a 2-way humidity control. Maintain optimum humidity to prevent mold from forming or over dried or too crispy product.
Boveda is made from a combination of salts and purified water, so it is completely food grade safe.
Boveda Humidity Control Sachets will lock in the moisture content by regulating the humidity inside your container. With that moisture locked in, weight loss is eliminated due to moisture evaporation, helping to maintain quality. Boveda will enhance color, aroma and taste.
The life of a Boveda product depends on how hard it has to work. The more moisture it has to give up, the harder it has to work and the more it takes away from the products life span. Youll know its time to replace Boveda when its no longer pliable.
Bovedas humidity control packages can be used for electronics, premium tobacco, food, music, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and herbs.
Its impossible for Boveda to over-humidify beyond the RH on the pack. Thats why our usage instructions talk about minimums, not maximums. Theres no such thing as using too much. More than the minimum will just last longer.
Boveda doesnt need to be activated or maintained. Once the Boveda pack becomes rigid, its out of water and needs to be replaced. This could mean weeks to years, depending on the package or container, how much the container is opened/closed and the ambient environment.
Boveda is the safest way to keep your product fresh and maximizes Terpenes.
Below are recommendations for the various humidity levels: These recommendations are dependent on how dry the herbs are when placed in airtight containers together with a Boveda pack. Boveda recommends drying to around 11% before placing into airtight containers with Boveda packs.
58% Relative Humidity
High humidity climates i.e Cape Town (Winter), Durban (All year)
Vaporiser users seem to prefer the 58%. Apparently it makes it smoother.
If herbs that are not dry enough are placed into a jar, the 58% will be more effective at dehumidifying the jar.
62% Relative Humidity
Low humidity climates i.e Johannesburg (All year) Cape Town (Summer)
If herbs that are too dry are placed into a jar, the 62% will be more effective at replenishing moisture in the flower.
All herbs work beautifully but some will react differently to the different RH level. So testing is the best practice.
One more thing to note. One should never mix a 58% and a 62% in the same jar, as the packs will work against each other and run out very quickly.
